  • Connecting Logical Switch to Edge Gateway
    • NSX Edge gateway connects isolated stub networks to shared uplink networks by providing common gateway services such as DHCP, VPN, NAT, dynamic routing, and LB
    • Common deployments of NSX Edge
      • DMZ
      • VPN Extranets
      • Multi-tennant cloud where edge creates virtual boundaries for each tenant
      • Select logical switch that you want to connect an NSX Edge
      • Add Edge Gateway
      • Select interface that you want to connect to the logical switch
      • logical network usually connected to internal interface

 

  • Adding Services to Logical Switch
    • Click Add Service Profile
    • Service must be registered before adding to logical switch
    • Select switch
      • Add Service profile
      • select the service profile you want to use

 

  • Adding and removing VMs from LS connections
    • Edit VM and change network
    • You can also select logicals switch and click the “+” and select the virtual NICs that you wish to connect
    • NSX Admin Guide p46
      • You can do the following “A ping test..to.. check if two hosts in a VXLAN transport network can reach each other.”
      • VXLAN standard size is 1550 bytes (should match the physical infra MTU)
